The mission of the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County Tuberculosis Control and Prevention Program (TB Program) is to identify, treat, and prevent the spread of Tuberculosis disease in Osceola County and control any related public health threat. The goals of the TB Program are:

  1. To ensure the identification and treatment of all persons with active Tuberculosis disease.
  2. To ensure that persons at high risk of progressing towards the disease are identified and receive prophylaxis thereby preventing future occurrence of Tuberculosis disease in the county.

Currently, treatment for Latent TB Infection (LTBI) is only available for individuals with medical conditions that present a higher risk for accelerated progression to TB disease if left untreated.
