Community health promotion is about empowering individuals and families to live healthier, safer lives by connecting them with the knowledge, resources, and support they need. Through education, preventive services, and collaborative programs, health promotion strengthens communities by addressing chronic disease, encouraging healthy habits, and reducing risks such as injury and violence.
By working together with schools, organizations, and local partners, we foster healthier lifestyles, reduces risks, and builds stronger, more resilient communities.
DOH-Osceola offers the following programs:
A variety of initiatives have been designed to support healthier, safer lifestyles for residents. These include chronic disease self‑management classes, a 6-week evidence-based program that equip individuals with tools to better manage their health, infant and child safety classes that provide parents and caregivers with essential knowledge to protect young children, and water safety reading sessions that teach children skills to prevent accidents and promote safe recreation.
To ensure accessibility, these programs are available both at our main location and within the community, making it easier for individuals and organizations to participate and benefit from these resources.
