Florida Department of Health in Osceola County

Florida Department of Health in Osceola works together with the Osceola School Board, Department of Education, to minimize health barriers for public school students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. School Health services provided are:  nursing assessments, health counseling, referrals and follow-up for suspected or confirmed health problems; individualized health care plan development; in-school care management for chronic and acute health conditions; assistance with medication administration and health care procedures. Vision, hearing, scoliosis, and growth and development screenings are completed annually for required grades with follow up. In addition in school vaccinations clinics are offered for 6th graders to ensure compliance with the states requirement.
